Zen Yoga Central is run by Arjuna Roberts and
he has designed an innovative and
progressive combination
of Hatha yoga and Zen meditation derived from over sixteen
years of intensive
practise, study, exploration and teaching.
YOGA
The yoga classes at Zen Yoga Central combine the alignment principles
of Iyengar Yoga
with the energetic principles and flowing nature of Ashtanga Vinyasa
Yoga, along with
influences from other styles
including Sivananda Yoga and Satyananda Yoga. Our yoga
classes can range from very
gentle nurturing practices through to vigourous and highly
energetic practices - all with a deep foundation and focus on meditative
awareness.

Yoga masters Nicky Knoff

Iyengar Yoga teacher)
as well as Zen meditation masters (see below).
MEDITATION
Along with the study and practise of classical yoga Arjuna has been
practising Zen with
two western masters since 2001, the first is Susan Murphy Roshi
based in Sydney and
the other is Jun Po Denis Kelly Roshi based in the USA.

Arjuna is currently Australia's only Mondo Zen facilitator authorised
by Zen Master Jun Po
Denis Kelly to teach his method of meditation practise and inquiry.
Zen Yoga Central
hosts Jun Po's visit to Australia every year in March and he also
takes part in teaching
a number of workshops and retreats throughout the year. (see www.mondozen.org

more details on Jun Po Kelly)
KIRTAN (CHANTING)
Arjuna is also a musician (pianist and singer) and regularly
leads chanting nights
at the studio
with his band. His kirtan influences come primarily from the Siddha
yoga and Satyananda
yoga lineages as well as USA kirtanists Krishna Das and Jai Uttal.
